Most of us are used to just working in a job in order to make money that we need to survive. This is a very common concept that people are able to grasp. We are never taught how a business works so we always think that a job is the only way to make an income. Most people are afraid of the risk that comes with having a business and they rather have the guarantee that they’re going to get a paycheck for the work that they putting on a weekly basis.

If you’re wondering why you should even start a business, one of the basis benefits is that profits will always be better than wages. In a business you are able to earn profit while in a job you are only entitled to wages. Even though there is a risk involved in it is worth it because you’re going to be able to benefit in the long run by continuing to increase your profit.

When running a business you’re going to be in control of everything that is going on even though you’re going to have the responsibility of the business it feels great to know that no one can tell you what to do or what not to do. Everyone wants breakthroughs in performance, but few know how to find them. It all begins with goals. Most organizations have inappropriate ones that aren’t tied to what the organization should be working on.

What kind of goals do most organizations have? If you sample what gets published, you’ll mostly find goals related to meeting a financial budget. If that budget includes not developing improvements for the future, such a budget can just be a way to pay management for slowing going out of business.
