Having a well-motivated sales team can be the cornerstone of a successful direct sales career. Building a strong sales team has the potential for great financial benefits for you as an up line. So now that you are on your way to building a good sized sales team how do you keep them motivated so that they will have fun with what they are doing and be able to build a successful direct selling business for themselves?

Team Newsletter or Ezine
One thing that you can do to keep up the motivation of your team is start a team newsletter. This can be done through the mail or by email whichever you think would work better for your group. You can include words of encouragement to get your team members excited about their business, offer tips like theme party ideas and maybe even let your team send in ideas that have worked for them. Keep them interested with a community feeling. They should look forward to reading the team newsletter.

Sending Cards
Another thing you can do to let your team members know that they are special to you is start sending cards on special occasions. Remembering things like wedding anniversaries, birthdays or even a consultant that has had an exceptional sales month will let your team members know that they are special to you and not simply a number that you recruited for your own personal gain. You will be amazed what a little validation can do.

One way to help maximize the amount of money that you can make with your direct sales business is to select a business that has web-friendly policies. So what exactly should you look for in a web-friendly direct sales business?

After you have decided on the type of product that you would like to sell, you need to research which companies allow you to sell online. Do they offer a website that consultants can utilize in order to make sales online? Are the company-made websites easy to navigate? You’ll want to make sure it will be easy for your customers to place an order or sign up as a consultant. If they do not offer company-made consultant websites will they allow you to make your own website to sell their products? Another thing you should look into is whether or not your company offers the use of an online party chat room as online parties can be very profitable for those looking to do business online.

Another step in finding a direct sales company that is web-friendly is to be fully aware of what restrictions that they have, if any, for online advertising. As a potential direct sales consultant that is looking for a web-friendly business you need to take the time to find out what types of online advertising are acceptable. Most direct sales companies have their own unique set of rules when it comes to online advertising. Some do not allow any online advertising. If you do plan to pursue your business online, this is a consideration. Even if you see others in the business promoting online, if the agreement states that it is against the rules, do not believe your upline when she says you can “get away with it”. Many of these companies do police the internet, and you don’t want to feel reprimanded or hindered in your business after you’ve invested much time and energy. Choose a company that fits with your needs in advance. Don’t try to tweak one to work for you, unless you are 100% sure that it’s worth it.

Think about this fact: every 4 seconds someone joins a home business and many of those people are joining some network marketing company. Now a couple different ideas may pop into your head. Either, holy crap that’s a lot of competition or holy crap that’s a lot of people that I want to get in front of with my opportunity. If you thought of the latter, you’re on the right track.

The network marketing/home business arena is exploding because of the many benefits that come along with this type of work. First, you get to choose what you want to work on, because you are your own boss. When you are your own boss, you get to decide how many hours you want to work and when those hours will be. They could be early in the morning, late at night, on the weekends, or whenever you desire. The beauty of it is YOU decide. But understand that success in this line of work, especially network marketing ,isn’t going to happen at the snap of your fingers. It’s going to take hard work, concentration, and dedication.
